Apply for a motor vehicle inspection

Use this service to apply for a Licensing Authority inspection of your motor vehicle. After a successful inspection, you will receive a Vehicle Examiner's A/B Certificate, which allows you to obtain a licence for the vehicle.

This service is provided by the Licensing Authority, Pine, St. Michael, Barbados.

What you will need to share

• Your full name, address, and telephone number
• Vehicle registration number (if the vehicle has been previously registered)
• Name and country of the vehicle manufacturer
• Vehicle description, primary and secondary colours
• Manufacturer's engine number
• Manufacturer's chassis number
• Year of manufacture, number of cylinders, and engine capacity
• Number of axles and whether the vehicle is left or right-hand drive
• Vehicle weight certificate (weight in kilograms) and gross weight
• Number of passengers the vehicle can carry
• Intended purpose of the vehicle

Before you start

• You must be the registered owner of the motor vehicle
• The vehicle must be physically available for inspection in Barbados
• You will need to attend the Licensing Authority at Pine, St. Michael for the physical inspection
